So you want to make a website!

Welcome. You may be taking ITE 115 at Northern Virginia Community College, or perhaps you stumbled in another way. But if you're reading this far, I'm assuming you want to make a website.

To create a website, you use HTML, which stands for HyperText Markup Language. This tutorial is a gentle introduction to HTML5, the lastest version. You'll also learn a little CSS, which stands for Cascading Style Sheets. CSS is used to style your site.

This tutorial is designed to take a week or two in a community college curriculum. But if you work hard and aren't afraid to jump right in, you can learn this in a day. When you're done, if you'd like to learn more please check out the W3C HTML5 Tutorial or Shay Howe's excellent Learn to Code HTML & CSS.
